Lesher Center for the Arts continues its 2022 Headliners series with Broadway veteran Laura Benanti. Praised for her supreme command, a thrilling voice, and a wild sense of humor (The New York Times), this evening of song will include Benantis brilliant renditions of Broadway tunes, standards, and more. The glamorously witty (Associated Press) Tony Award-winning actress began her Broadway career at the age of 18, performing in 11 shows on the Great White Way including "The Sound of Music", "Gypsy", "Into the Woods", "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown", "Nine", "She Loves Me", and "My Fair Lady". Benantis recent film and television appearances include Amy Schumers Life & Beth on Hulu, Sara Colangelos Worth with Michael Keaton, and Lin-Manuel Mirandas Tick, Tick Boom! for Netflix, and her comedic portrayal of First Lady Melania Trump on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Additional television credits include recurring roles on Younger, Nashville, Supergirl, The Good Wife, Gossip Girl, Elementary, Nurse Jackie, and Law and Order: SVU, among others.
