Spreckels Theatre Company presents “Bell, Book and Candle," by John Van Druten.
Call Dr. Bombay! Because when a witch falls in love, she loses her powers.
After using her supernatural powers to seduce her handsome upstairs neighbor - a sultry witch finds herself feeling human emotions when she becomes bewitched by her own spell. Set in 1950s Manhattan, John Van Druten's comedy is beguiling as it bubbles and brews with gay subtext and the Communist witch-hunts of Joe McCarthy.
Featuring Liz Jahren as Gillian Holroyd; Larry Williams as Shepherd Henderson; Mary Gannon Graham as Miss “Queenie” Holroyd; Peter Warden as Nicky Holroyd; and David Yen as Sidney Redlitch.
Directed by Tom Chapman
