11th New Music for Treble Voices at First United Methodist Church

The Peninsula Women's Chorus presents the 11th New Music for Treble Voices Festival, celebrating vocal improvisation through Circle Singing. The festival will feature guest choirs including San Francisco-based Musae, Ensemble from the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, Sacramento-based Vox Musica, and the PWC. Throughout the day, festival members will participate in workshops led by Bay Area-based members of MOTION, Bryan Dyer, Tammi Brown, and David Worm, exploring the art of vocal improvisation. A public Circle Singing workshop will take place from 2 pm to 2:30 pm, followed by a concert at 2:30 pm showcasing contemporary repertoire, including PWC’s premiere of two movements from “What Place is This?” by PWC’s Composer-in-Residence Amy X Neuburg. The program will also feature a solo set by the festival clinicians that will conclude with an interactive Circle Singing session led by our clinicians, where everyone is invited to participate!
