Playwright Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, starring Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin, will play Wednesday, April 11 through Saturday, May 12 at the Golden Gate Theatre as a part of the 2006-2007 Best of Broadway season.Opening night is Friday, April 13. Tickets go on sale Sunday, February 25.

Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin, who reprise their starring roles as George and Martha in the widely acclaimed recent Broadway and London productions of this beloved classic American play, will be joined by Kathleen Early as Honey and David Furr as Nick.

"Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is the story of George and Martha, two of the most famous roles ever written for film and stage. Over the course of one wickedly hilarious evening, the cocktails come out and the gloves come off as this riveting duo takes their two young guests on the ride of their lives, proving that modern marriage is a battlefield all its own," states press notes.

Kathleen Turner (2007 London Critics Circle Award for Best Actress) and Bill Irwin (2005 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play) opened the show on Broadway. The critics were unanimous in their praise of the production and its players. The Broadway production received six 2005 Tony Award nominations, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Revival of a Play and Best Costume Design.In addition, playwright Edward Albee received a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the theater.

The five-month, five-city tour of Woolf began January 4, 2007 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and continues on through May with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Tucson.
