Vanities, a new coming-of age musical with book by Jack Heifner and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum, is currently playing at the Mountain View Center or the Performing Arts, CA.  A special audience discussion is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday July 5th at the 8:00PM show.

"Chronicling the comic journey of three vivacious Texas teens from cheerleaders to sorority sisters to housewives, liberated women and beyond," states press notes, "this tangy tale of coming-of-age in the '60s and '70s is a musical scrapbook of an era that had to be lived to be believed. With a tunefully evocative score by David Kirshenbaum (Summer of '42) and Jack Heifner's hilarious adaptation of his long-running off-Broadway smash, Vanities offers a snapshot-sharp portrait of the lives, loves, disappointments, and dreams of best friends caught up in times that are a-changin'."

The cast stars Megan Hilty (Wicked) as Mary, Leslie Kritzer (The Great American Trailer Park Musical) as Kathy, and Sarah Stiles (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) as Joanne.

Remaining show dates and times are: July 5-8 at 8:00PM, July 8 and 9 at 2:00PM, July 9 at 7:30PM, July 11 at 7:30PM, July 12-15 at 8PM, and July 16 at 2PM.  Tickets are $30 - $55 for general admission.  All students are $20 and there are senior discounts.  For full details visit www.theatreworks.org.
