The New Conservatory Theatre presents the US premiere of Holding the Man from September 21 through November 4, based on the Australian Best-Seller by Timothy Conigrave.  The award-winning adaptation by Tommy Murphy is directed by Matthew Graham Smith.

"A breathtakingly honest, achingly funny and completely heart-wrenching account of a fifteen-year relationship that weathered disapproval, separation and temptation; Holding the Man explores the highs and lows of love turned upside-down by HIV. Expected to tour widely in 2008, Holding the Man has been greatly successful in Australia, having played two sold-out seasons in 2006 at the Griffin Theatre Company in Sydney , where it became the highest-grossing production in the theatre's twenty-eight year history. The show then transferred to the Sydney Opera House in 2007 where it enjoyed another sold-out and critically successful run," explain press notes.

Previews are September 21 – 28, opening September 29 running through November 4.  Show times are Wednesday though Saturday at 8PM and Sunday at 2PM.
