The Marsh Extends Ann Randolph's LOVELAND, Now Through 2/12/2010

By:

As the show continues to garner critical and audience acclaim, The Marsh is proud to extend Ann Randolph's acclaimed LOVELAND for the second time. After a short break over the holidays, the show will resume on January 19 and run through February 12, 2010. It will also move to The Marsh MainStage, 1062 Valencia Street in San Francisco. Directed by Matt Roth, LOVELAND will play on Saturday at 8:30 pm and Sunday at 7:00 pm (please note the new days and times.) For tickets, the public may call Brown Paper Tickets at 800-838-3006 or visit www.themarsh.org .

The audience is advised to fasten their seat belts as Randolph recounts the emotional, hilarious and deeply human journey of Frannie Potts, an irreverent, lovable woman, never shy to speak her mind, as she travels back from LA to her childhood home in Ohio. Confronting the loss of the biggest love of her life, she stumbles her way from outrageous confrontation and awkward confusion to a glimpse of the mystery, tragedy and beauty that unite us all. Mel Brooks compares Randolph to the late Gilda Radner for her audacious humor, her generosity and her ability to take us from tears to laughter in the same minute.

Widely considered one of the most gifted and innovative writer-performers in the country, Randolph has been hailed by critics as "revolutionary, Whitmanesque, and a tour de-force." Her previous solo show, "Squeeze Box," was the Winner of LA Weekly's Best Solo Show for 2002 and the Los Angeles Times Ovation Award for Best Solo Show 2002. Its extended run at The Marsh played to sold-out audiences for eight months last year.
