San Jose Rep Extends ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN Through 10/6
On track to be one of San Jose Rep's biggest box office hits in history, ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplinhas been extended for one week through Sunday, October 6, for six additional performances. Playing to packed houses, the Broadway-bound, high-octane musical phenomenon is in increasing demand after only one week of previews.
"With such talented performers and so many Bay Area connections to Janis Joplin, I knew this show would be popular, but even I've been astounded at the interest and response," said Rick Lombardo, artistic director of San Jose Rep. "The audiences are having a blast, the cast is having a good time and everyone is thoroughly enjoying this incredible celebration of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest icons."
Additional performances: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 3, 8:00 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 4, 8:00 p.m.;Saturday, Oct. 5, 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 6, 2:00 p.m.
Written and directed by Randy Johnson, ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin is produced by Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of One Night Productions, in association with The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeffrey Jampol of JAM, Inc. San Jose Rep's production is co- produced with ZACH Theatre in Austin, Texas.
