Neil Sedaka to Perform at Gallo Center, 4/21
Singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist Neil Sedaka will make his debut at the Gallo Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 8:00 PM. The Rock n' Roll legend's performance was recently added to the Center's 11/12 season lineup.
Sedaka's fifty-five year career ranges from being a relevant songwriter for himself and other artists to remaining a constant force in writing and performing presently. Carol," "Where The Boys Are," " Stairway to Heaven," "Calendar Girl," "Little Devil," "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen," "Next Door To An Angel," "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do," "Laughter in the Rain," and "Love Will Keep Us Together" live on as some of the most memorable hits of the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
Among the honors he has received, Sedaka has been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, has had a street named after him in his hometown of Brooklyn, and was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Popular Music / Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004.
