Nanci Williams Named General Manager of Broadway San Jose
Nanci Williams, co-founder of the Orloff/Williams marketing firm and former San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce chair, has been named General Manager of Broadway San Jose: a Nederlander Presentation, effective today. Williams replaces Ruth Pangilinan, who departs the company to pursue other opportunities following a successful week-long run of ROCK OF AGES, which closed on Sunday.
Williams brings to BSJ/Nederlander more than 20 years of experience marketing and communicating to the people who live and work in the Bay Area, and a love of the theatre that began as a child performer in SJCMT productions. Over the years, her agency represented a host of performing arts companies including Montalvo Center for the Arts and The Rep.
Nederlander recently celebrated 100 years of experience bringing the best entertainment to communities across the country. The Broadway San Jose 2012-13 season continues in April with the South Bay premier of BLUE MAN GROUP opening on April 2; followed by the Tony Award winning Billy Elliot THE MUSICAL, which opens on May 7. The final presentation of the season June 4-9 is Green Day'S AMERICAN IDIOT, direct from Broadway, and based on the Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum album of the same name.
The Broadway San Jose 2013-14 season line-up will be announced next month, and premieres in October. All performances are held at the San Jose Center for Performing Arts located in downtown San Jose, in partnership with Team San Jose. Team San Jose acts as the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and manages four downtown theatres and the Convention Center, Parkside Hall and South Hall.
