SF Playhouse presents Jesus Hopped the A-Train by Stephen Adly Guirgis, playing February 28 through April 20, opening March 3.

"From the writer of last seasons' SF Playhouse hit Our Lady of 121st Street, comes the searing comedy, Jesus Hopped the A-Train, a truth-telling, cage-rattling play about faith, justice and diminishing options in an American prison," states press notes, "Angel Cruz, a poor Puerto Rican, isn't sure why he's in jail after shooting Reverend Kim, the Cult-leader who brainwashed his best friend.  As Angel dukes it out verbally in the prison exercise yard with a born-again killer, he slowly learns to accept responsibility for what he has done." NOTE: Not recommended for children.

The cast will be led by long-time Berkeley resident, TV, film and stage star Carl Lumbly (Alias) and includes, Susi Damilano, Daveed Diggs, Joe Madero, and Gabriel Marin.Bill English will direct.

Previews are February 28 – March 2; opening March 3 with performances through April 20.Show times are Wednesdays – Saturdays at 8PM and Saturdays at 3PM.
