This summer, Del Shores bring his hilarious, all-new stand-up show, Del Shores: SINgularly SORDID, to New Conservatory Theatre Center for a special two-night engagement. The creator of the Sordid Lives franchise and writer/director/producer of Southern Baptist Sissies, Blues for Willadean and Queer Is Folk is back with all new hysterical, sordid stories. This time, Shores discusses the unexpected comedy of returning to the world of dating after divorce. He shares a litany of bad dates and the trials and tribulations of being on the prowl again when you are a "minor gay celebrity".

The limited engagement of Del Shores: SINgularly SORDID plays July 31st & August 1st, 8pm in NCTC's Decker Theater.

Tickets are $30, and $25 for NCTC Subscribers. There are a limited number of VIP tickets available for $40, and include a private post-show reception with Shores and complimentary champagne. Tickets are available at (415) 861-8972 or nctcsf.org.

Del Shores has written, directed and produced successfully across studio and independent film, network and cable television and regional and national touring theatre. Shores' career took off with the acclaimed play Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got The Will?), followed by a feature film version released by MGM. His largest hit came from his fourth play, Sordid Lives, which had an extended run in Los Angeles in 1996, won 14 Drama-Logue Awards and spawned 300 productions around the country. A film version of Sordid Lives directed by Shores and starring Beau Bridges, Delta Burke, Olivia Newton-John, and Leslie Jordan became a cult phenomenon when it was released in 1999, winning several Best Film prizes at film festivals and over a dozen festival "Audience Awards". In 2008, Viacom's LOGO Network premiered Sordid Lives: The Series starring Olivia Newton-John, Rue McClanahan and Leslie Jordan, along with many of the original stage and film cast. The series became LOGO's biggest hit to date, and was distributed in seventeen countries. In addition to Sordid Lives: The Series, in television Shores has written and produced for many shows including Dharma and Greg and the ground-breaking Showtime series Queer as Folk. His other plays also include The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife (Outstanding New Play, LA Drama Critics Circle Award; LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award; and 3 LA Weekly Awards), and Southern Baptist Sissies (Outstanding Production of the Year, GLAAD Award). A film version of Southern Baptist Sissies is currently in post-production.

In 2009, Shores launched his solo stand-up career with Del Shores: My Sordid Life, which played 34 cities across the country to sold-out houses, and later released on DVD in 2012. In the summer of 2011, Shores took to the road again, selling out a new new stand-up show Del Shores: Sordid Confessions in 40 cities. Shores returned to his home state of Texas in January of 2012 to film the show at the famous Rose Room in Dallas. Breaking Glass Pictures released the DVD to rave reviews. His stand-up career continued to explode and he launched his third national tour in 2012 with Del Shores: Naked.Sordid.Reality. The tour became his most successful, playing over 50 dates. He also performed stand-up with various Sordid Lives stars including Rue McClanahan, Caroline Rhea and Leslie Jordan in A Sordid Affair, playing large theatres in Dallas, Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale and Raleigh as well as four nights at Comix in New York City.
