David Raher Dead at Age 91

Dancer, writer and professor David Raher died yesterday in San Francisco.
The 91 year old had been a solo dancer for Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. His stage credits included Broadway productions of Carousel and The New Moon, for which he was a dancer and ensemble member.
A well-known arts writer, Raher wrote and published two books, The Emergence of the Ballet Choreographer and A Day in the Country: Conversation Pieces. He also worked for Dance and Dancers Magazine, The New York Times, Korea Journal and Korean National Commission for UNESCO.
