As it consolidates its offices and workshops at a new campus, the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre is holding a massive clearance sale at its former storage facility. A huge selection of costumes, props, and furniture is priced to move, so get thee to the warehouse at 937 Carleton Street. Bargain hunters, theatre lovers, DIY enthusiasts, and Burners getting ready for the playa won't want to miss this two-day sale: April 15 and 16 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

"Come early for best selection. Come later for best prices," says Costume Director Maggi Yule. "We literally have tons of things to sell. There are loads of comfortable clothes - like jeans and hoodies - as well as vintage suits and dresses, period hats, and plenty of shoes. We've got practical stuff like dishes, baskets, curtains, and other household items. We have loads of books and bookcases, along with a broad selection of furniture from offices and hotels. And of course, since much of this stuff was made to be on stage, there are handmade treasures that will have you feeling like the star of your own show. It's a garage sale on a theatrical scale!"

Bargain hunters at the warehouse sale won't be the only ones getting a deal. By consolidating all its pre-production activities in a single campus, Berkeley Rep will save $250,000 each year. That means, after completing a few improvements to its new building, the Theatre will pay 50% less for 50% more space. With two stages and a school on Addison Street, Berkeley Rep continues to present renowned shows and popular education programs in downtown Berkeley - even as it moves all its other operations to a new campus on Harrison Street. With this new facility, the Theatre unites its artisans and administrators under one roof for the first time in decades while cutting costs, improving efficiency, supporting the local economy, and upholding the tradition of light manufacturing in West Berkeley. In addition to being used for storage, the new facility will house the costume shop, prop shop, scene shop, and administrative offices, which were previously divided among five different locations in two cities. It will also free up space in the Thrust Stage to provide new amenities for audiences.

Berkeley Rep has grown from a storefront stage to a national leader in innovative theatre. Known for its core values of imagination and excellence, as well as its educated and adventurous audience, the nonprofit has provided a welcoming home for emerging and established artists since 1968. The Theatre welcomes an annual audience of 180,000, serves 20,000 students, and hosts dozens of community groups, thanks to 1,000 volunteers and more than 400 artists, artisans, and administrators. Berkeley Rep is proud to premiere exhilarating new plays. In the last six years alone, it has helped send six shows to Broadway: American Idiot, Bridge & Tunnel, Ghetto Klown, In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Passing Strange, and Wishful Drinking. Come see tomorrow's plays today at Berkeley Rep.
