Scotto Moore, the writer/director behind Annex hits Duel of the Linguist Mages and A Mouse Who Knows Me returns with Star Crossed, an evening of tasty bite sized science-fiction and fantasy ranging from the romantic to the bizarre.

In the four interlocking plays that make up the title series an astronaut on a deep space mission crosses time and space to reconnect with the woman she loves. Directed by Moore, the series takes us to the edge of the galaxy and back, with devious extraterrestrial forces never far from the action.

Interspersed with the Star Crossed story line are four fantastical short plays, written by Moore and directed by other Annex fixtures.

In Sending A Message, directed by Catherine Blake Smith, a man takes his vendetta against Judy Garland's "Over the Rainbow" to its logical conclusion.

Leaving the Nest, directed by Jen Moon, concerns a rebellious teenage demon whose parents are none too pleased when she tries to date a nice boy who happens to be an angel.

In That Doesn't Sound Right At All, directed by Ian Johnston, Elvis returns to Earth for 15 minutes he won in a poker game.

And in Coming to a Conclusion, directed by Katherine Karaus, a group of neighbors fall under the influence of an amazing org*sm machine.

All eight short plays are cast from a fantastic ensemble of actors. Annex veterans Daniel Christensen, Stephen Scheide, Katie Driscoll, Gina Marie Russell and LaChrista Borgers are joined by Erin Ison, Melissa Fenwick, Mark Rud, Sascha Streckel, and Jake Ynzunza making their Annex debut.

Featuring Scotto Moore's signature wit, Star Crossed promises an evening of sweet moments, wild locales and unforgettable characters, as we journey from the depths of hell, to the far corners of the universe, and forwards and backwards in time.

Annex Theatre is a democratic collective of theatre artists dedicated to creating bold new work in an environment of improbability, resourcefulness and risk. Annex Theatre produces new plays by living playwrights, radical reinterpretations of classic scripts, and ensemble-generated non-linear spectacles. Now in its new Capitol Hill venue, Annex originally opened its doors in 1987 in a former dance studio on 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle. Since then the theater has produced hundreds of world and Northwest premieres.

Star Crossed performs April 30th- May 22th. Tuesday-Wednesday 8pm. Tickets $5-$10. www.annextheatre.org
