Following a successful run in May at Pier 39 in San Francisco, Jonathan Poretz, Frank Sinatra in the "The Rat Pack is Back," is bringing A SWINGIN' NIGHT AT THE SANDS, his swingin' salute to 1960s Las Vegas, back to the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, on Saturday, June 27th.

The show, which KGO Radio's Jerry Friedman, called "A Knockout," features a hard-driving Basie-styled 12-piece big band, directed by Richard Nelson Hall, and the comedy of Jeff Applebaum, who played Joey Bishop in the Rat Pack show.

Weaving together some of the best-loved classics from that era, including I've Got You Under My Skin, Mack The Knife, Luck Be A Lady, I Left My Heart in San Francisco,, My Way and many more, with wonderful inside stories about the men who made the Vegas strip famous, Poretz successfully recreates what it was like to be sitting front row in the Sands' iconic Copa Room.

"Just like with the Rat Pack show, we meet audience members who actually saw Frank and company in Las Vegas and thank us for bringing back a little slice of their youth," comments Poretz. "But we're also finding that the younger audience members are very hip to this music and scene, which was the essence of cool back then and remains cool today."

Tickets for A Swingin' Night at the Sands at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre are priced at $25 for general admission, with special $35 reserved VIP seating.
