The Fairy Tale Monologues at Riot Productions

Riot Productions is proud to present a full length production of 2026’s award winning “The Fairy Tale Monologues”, with extended scenes and additional songs by Sarah Alida LeClair, two time William Male Foundation Fellow for playwriting. A queer princess (Delia Mejia) hiding a trail of bodies, a witch (Sarah LeClair) done to death by her own empathy, a faithful wife (Josalyn Johnson/Jaime Feinstein) struggling against crippling depression and suicidal ideation, and a child trying to figure out fact from fairy tale. Also starring San Diego favorites Tim Benson and BJ Robinson, and introducing Gigi Filipovich, “The Fairy Tale Monologues” twists familiar fairy tales until they shatter, revealing the real women behind the stories as they search for love, connection, and friendship.

Audiences at San Diego Fringe called the script “a ride into another world. I laughed until I cried, and then I ended the play in tears.” “The Fairy Tale Monologues” is the perfect summer fare to leave the theatre humming the songs while asking yourself why a fairy tale always begins, “her mother was dead to begin with.”
