San Diego Theatres presents Kino Lorber's Complete Metropolis, part of the Silent Movie Mondays series at the historic Balboa Theatre. This landmark 2010 restoration includes nearly 25 minutes of previously lost footage, discovered in a 16mm reduction print in an Argentine museum, offering the most complete presentation of Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film to date. The screening, starring Brigitte Helm, features live organ accompaniment by Brett Miller, a conductor, arranger, and organist who at 27 is one of the youngest working artists in the field, performing his original score on the theatre's 97-year-old Wonder Morton Theatre Organ. A pre-show performance by organist Rosemary Bailey will precede the film, and a post-show conversation with Brett Miller, moderated by Jodi Cilley, Founder and President of Film Consortium San Diego and Film Professor at San Diego City College, will follow.
