Shostakovich Five at The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts

YOSA Philharmonic closes its season with Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, a work born under Soviet oppression that captures human resilience through raw emotion, irony, and defiance. The concert also features William Walton's Crown Imperial, a march composed for a royal coronation. Violinist Zhiwei Huang, winner of the 2025/26 YOSA Concerto Competition and a graduating senior, performs the finale of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto as a special solo. YOSA Capriccio Strings will also perform, with Troy Peters conducting.
