The San Pedro Playhouse presents HELLO, DOLLY!, a regional production cast solely of local talent. The show plays the Russell Hill Rogers Theatre from tonight, July 20 through August 19.

Dolly is a brassy widow with a knack for matchmaking. She takes a trip to New York to meet a millionaire, Mr. Vandergelder whom has been courting another woman. She fixes up his store clerks with the woman he had been courting with hopes of making a match with Mr. Vandergelder herself. With a big star, spectacular costumes, vibrant dancing and incredible singing, HELLO, DOLLY! has consistenly been hailed as a must see show.

The cast, comprised of local San Antonians, features Elise Lopez, Bob Galindo, Trey Hoadley, Trevor Chauvin, Heather Kelley, and Mariela Flor Olivio. 

HELLO, DOLLY! was first produced on Broadway by David Merrick in 1964, in which it won the Tony Award for Best Musical and nine other Tonys. The show has become one of the most enduring musical theatre hits, playing three Broadway revivals and international success. It was also made into a 1969 film that was nominated for seven Academy Awards. HELLO, DOLLY!'s lyrics and music were written by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart composed the book. HELLO, DOLLY! is based on Thornton Wilder's 1938 farce The Merchant of Yonkers, which Wilder revised and retitled The Matchmaker in 1955.
