TBA (early February) -Auditions for The Ides of Texas: Short Play Showcase
Original short plays by Texas writers are presented. "The Ides of March" marks a day when abrupt change had great repercussions - a prevalent theme in these short plays. If writers are interested in submitting a short play (approx. 15 minutes long) for the showcase, please send by January 31 to Roy Thomas at submissions@theovertimetheater.net. Directors are also needed - please send your resume and a short request to submissions@theovertimetheater.net. Showdates are March 11 - 27, 2010.
Sunday, Feb. 28, 6-9 pm - Auditions for The Happy Couple
World Premiere! A young lawyer and his wife return to the house that they rented while he attended law school 10 years ago. Squatters now occupy the house and won't let the happy couple leave. By the time the sun comes up, no one's life will be the same. Written by San Antonio playwright James Venhaus and directed by Matthew Byron Cassi. Showdates are April 8 - May 1, 2010.

Sunday, April 25, 2-5 pm - Auditions for both R.U.R. Rossum's Universal Robots and The Last Broadcast of Bailey and Long
RUR Description - This show is a new adaptation of Karel Capek's 1921 play that gave birth to modern sci-fi and introduced the word "robot" to the world's lexicon. At its island factory, Rossum's Universal Robots makes the best bio-mechanical robots for your every need. They're so good, they even look human! But when a beautiful young revolutionary arrives with notions of robot liberation, she is greeted by R.U.R.'s managers who assure her that robots are soulless and indifferent to humanity's cause. However, her idealistic views plant the seeds of a revolution that proves just how dangerously human robots can be. Adapted by Roy Thomas. Showdates are June 10 - 26, 2010.
