In an effort to bring the joy of music to households throughout the state this holiday season, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera announced today that it will offer On Demand streaming of three previously-scheduled December live performances after news that Salt Lake County Arts and Culture venues will be shut to the public until the end of the year.
The Utah Symphony today announced legendary Pinchas Zukerman, one of today's most versatile and sought-after musicians, returns to Abravanel Hall to conduct and perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor with the orchestra for four performances November 19, 20, and 21.

Utah Symphony | Utah Opera today announced the suspension of performances through May 23, 2020 in response to the state's increased COVID-19 precautions for social distancing and Salt Lake County Arts and Culture's announcement that performing arts venues will be closed through May 15, 2020.
Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2019-20 season, with highlights including multimedia concert experiences featuring the twelve movements of Messiaen's Des canyons aux toiles (From the canyons to the stars), the release of Berlioz and Prokofiev recordings on the Hyperion Records and Reference Recordings respectively, and a celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in 2020. Additional highlights include the return of American composer Andrew Norman to present three of his orchestral works and work with young Utah musicians in his second year as Composer-in-Association; a gala concert with violinist Joshua Bell celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Utah Symphony's first-ever performance, which took place on May 8, 1940; and a tribute to Hispanic Heritage that includes music by Latin-American composers conducted by guest artist Carlos Miguel Prieto.
