His songs have been recorded by Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, his son Rufus Wainwright, and Mose Allison, among others, while her music has earned multiple Grammy® nominations, and the respect of John Prine, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris, each of whom has invited her to collaborate—she’s "one of the great voices in contemporary popular music" ( NPR ).
