Capital Stage's Youth Theatre Announces Summer Performance Class For Teens 7/27-8/8
Capital Stage's Youth Theatre is gearing up for our 2009 summer performance class for teens, ages 12-18. Students who are continuing their training or discovering a love of theatre for the first time will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform a one-act play for a live Capital Stage audience!
"Perform!" July 27 - August 8, 2009
Class/Rehearsals: M-F 1pm-5pm and Saturday, Aug 8 Noon-5pm
Performance: Saturday, August 8 6pm
Tuition: $200
This class meets for four hours, five days a week for two weeks, plus one additional 5-hour day to prepare for the final class performance. Under the direction of professional director and actor, Jonathan Williams, students will rehearse and prepare for a live performance. Students will be assigned roles and will spend class time discussing and analyzing the script, rehearsing the play, and preparing for a public performance on Saturday, August 8 at 6pm. (Each student will receive 2 tickets to the performance as part of their class tuition. Additional tickets may be purchased for $10 on a first come, first served basis) (Min class size: 8. Max class size: 16.)
Jonathan Williams, Instructor/Director
Jonathan is a graduate of the California Institute for the Arts. He has worked professionally in theatre for the past 20 years as an actor, director, and technician. He is a co-founder and associate artist with Capital Stage Company and is a long-time member of Actors' Equity Association.
