The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) has announced the cast of its upcoming Equity Mainstage production of Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.

Dashing men-about-town John Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff pursue lovely young ladies Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. Matters are complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both men to cover their on-the-sly activities - not to mention the disapproval of the formidable Lady Bracknell.

Oscar Wilde dishes up scathing social satire, effervescent wit, and high farce, making this one of the most cherished plays in the English language.

The cast includes Rosalind Ashford (Miss Prism), Michael R. Douglass (Lane/Merriman), Sheira Feuerstein (Cecily Cardew), Drew Lewis (Algernon Moncrieff), David Lind (John Worthing), Dick Nagle (Reverend Chasuble), Shayna Vercillo (Gwendolen Fairfax) and Kathleen Huber as Lady Bracknell. Directed by David Murray Jaffe.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST will play the White Plains Performing Arts Center for six performances only April 5-7 and 12-14. (Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.) Tickets are $35 adults and $25 high school & younger.

All performances are at the White Plains theatre, located on the third level of City Center off Mamaroneck Avenue in downtown White Plains.
