Lagond's Live! Presents Brooks Williams In Concert this Sunday

Lagond's Live! Presents Brooks Williams In Concert this Sunday ImageLagond's Live! from the haven (9 Haven Street) proudly presents Brooks Williams on Sunday, November 5 at at 7:00 p.m.

Ranked in the "Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists" and "best male vocalist" nominee (Spiral Earth), Brooks Williams is one of the most versatile and entertaining performers on the roots music scene today. Born in Statesboro Georgia - the town made famous by country-blues legend Blind Willie McTell - his music career was raised and nurtured in the Boston and New England scene in the late 90s, the same place that Bonnie Raitt got started. He is the proverbial triple threat: a fiery guitarist, a smooth-as-silk vocalist, and a stunning songwriter.

fRoots says Brooks Williams is "absolutely beyond criticism!" He's recorded twenty-one albums. His latest are Shreveport Sessions and New Everything. He walks the line between blues and Americana, but there's a bit of jazz and rockabilly thrown in for good measure. Imagine Doc Watson, Willie Nelson, Lonnie Johnson and Blind Boy Fuller sitting in a bar having a jam - and you're just about there! Dirty Linen calls him one of "America's musical treasures."

In the time-honored tradition, Williams has honed his craft on the road. He got his start in the clubs of New York and New England and has toured in ever-widening circles on stages from Dallas to London, Istanbul to Anchorage, Toronto to Dublin, Detroit to Glasgow, Nairobi to Belfast, New York to Sardinia.

"I've known Brooks for many years. He's a lovely player, a lovely singer, and a great writer and a lovely man. The real thing" Martin Simpson

Tickets at $20; $15 students and seniors. Visit www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-brooks-williams-tickets-38556759305?aff=es2
