Local non-profit theater group The Hope Players announces the latest in their signature series of fundraising performances - Eve Ensler's masterpiece The Vagina Monologues. The group is affiliated with The Hope for Change Foundation (HFC) - a Westchester-based non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research through theatrical endeavors.

For the past two years, HFC has donated over $20,000 to breast cancer research projects conducted at White Plains Hospital, and has been linked with the hospital as well as the White Plains branch of Gilda's Club in a variety of fundraising and awareness efforts. When choosing research projects, HFC selects patient focused studies because of their ability to directly impact those in the Westchester community.

Performances of The Vagina Monologues will be held on Friday, August 7th at 8:00p.m., Saturday, August 8th at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 9th at 2:00 p.m. at The Westchester Sandbox Theatre, located at 931C East Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck, NY.

Dubbed "probably the most important piece of political theater of the last decade" by The New York Times, the play is made up of a varying number of monologues dealing with different aspects of the feminine experience.

Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. To purchase advance tickets, call 914-206-9617 or buy online at http://tickets.hopeforchange.org/. Online donations are also possible by visiting http://www.hopeforchange.org/support/.

The Vagina Monologues is directed by Nellie O'Brien and is produced by Jason Summers and Christopher Nardi. The cast features local talent from Westchester and New York City. "We have a cast of the finest actresses in the county who were willing to approach this project as a workshop. The result is an amazing, dynamic production of The Vagina Monologues that brings the voice of every woman to Eve Ensler's funny, poignant and thought-provoking work" said director Nellie O'Brien.
