1776 is a musical with music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards and book by Peter Stone, presented by Little Theatre of Fall River to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. The production portrays the Second Continental Congress and the drafting of the Declaration of Independence, exploring the compromise, courage, and debate that shaped the founding of the nation. Directed by Paula Arruda, with Musical Direction by Bobby Perry and Choreography by Elle Gendreau, the cast features Aaron Gendreau-Visco as John Adams, Kenneth McPherson as Benjamin Franklin, Preston DaPonte as Thomas Jefferson, and Bill Dennis as John Hancock, among many others.
