Trinity Rep continues Season 52 Rebels, Renegades and Pioneers with Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy, The Heidi Chronicles, directed by Vivienne Benesch. Performances run December 3, 2015 through January 3, 2016. Tickets are on sale now and by phone at (401) 351-4242, online at www.trinityrep.com, or in person at the theater's box office at 201 Washington Street, Providence.

Heidi Holland is coming of age during the crest of second-wave feminism. From high school in the idealistic 1960s to her adult years in the materialistic 1980s, she finds herself wanting everything a good liberal baby boomer expects: career, family and an equal partner. Is it truly possible? See the world through the eyes of a woman looking for identity, truth and family, and confronting what it takes to have it all.

"Heidi's story is relatable for so many people-women and men-trying to navigate their choices, their relationships, expectations and what it means to seek happiness," remarks director Vivienne Benesch. "We fall in love with her because her life is tragically funny and beautifully heartbreaking. We see ourselves in her."

The Heidi Chronicles features resident acting company members Angela Brazil as Heidi with Rebecca Gibel, Mauro Hantman, Charlie Thurston, and Joe Wilson, Jr., with Rachel Christopher and Brown/Trinity Rep actors Ashley Monique Butler and Anna Miles.

The design team includes Lee Savage (set design), Tracy Christensen (costume design), Dan Scully (lighting design), Peter Sasha Hurowitz (sound design), and stage manager Kristen Gibbs.

Director Vivienne Benesch was recently appointed Producing Artistic Director of Playmakers Repertory Company, and is in her twelfth season as artistic director of the renowned Chautauqua Theater Company and Conservatory where she most recently directed Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, the world premiere of Molly Smith Metzler's The May Queen, workshops of new plays by Michael Golamco, Anna Ziegler, Kate Fodor and Zayd Dohrn and an acclaimed interdisciplinary re-imagining of Romeo and Juliet. Other directing credits include Deborah Salem Smith's Love Alone, John Logan's Red and Sarah Ruhl's In The Next Room for PlayMakers Repertory Company; Richard III and Antigone for Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey and over ten productions for the Juilliard School where she has been a director and faculty member for the last several years. Benesch is a graduate of Brown University and NYU's Graduate Acting Program.
