In celebration of 40 years of The Flat Earth, BMG is releasing an expanded, 40th Anniversary Edition of the album. As well as the complete tracklisting from the original record, the special release of the anniversary edition includes live tracks, rare mixes and alternate versions of songs from the iconic album, which tell the story of a songwriter and performer reaching new musical heights.

The Coolidge Corner Theatre (‘the Coolidge') has announced the winter/spring 2024 lineup of its weekly Kids' Shows. Sure to delight all ages, the new season launches on Sunday, January 7 at 10:30am with a live performance by The Stacey Peasley Band.

Radar Pictures and Bandits Roost Entertainment are in development on the feature film adaptation of Weslandia, the international best selling children's book by Newbury Award winner Paul Fleischman. Award-winning franchise director Kenny Ortega (the High School Musical trilogy, Disney's Descendants trilogy, Hocus Pocus) has been attached to direct.

The beautiful album artwork was shot by Nick Knight, a renowned British photographer who has worked with Björk, Lady Gaga, Massive Attack, Billie Eilish, and many other prominent artists. The focus track, album-opener “Serial Killer,” follows on the heels of previously released singles “Mentally Not Here,” “It’s a Joke,” “Sleep Paralysis” and more.

James Leon's 8th Gear Entertainment and Ted Field's Radar Pictures are teaming to bring famed giant tortoise Lonesome George and his remarkable true story to life via the big screen in a new 3D CGI animated adventure movie.

The character, created by Italian author Elisabetta Dami has been featured in over 300 books, translated into over 50 languages, as well as graphic novels, an animated series, eight live stage productions, video games, toys, and more. Now Radar Pictures is taking Geronimo on his next big adventure — his very own big-screen motion picture. 

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

The beautiful Connor Palace is jumping back in time to transport Cleveland to the Golden Era of Cinema during the 22nd Annual Cinema at the Square classic film series, presented by Medical Mutual, August 1-18. Fifteen fan-favorites will screen reel-to-reel on a large non-Imax screen, featuring some of the most popular films from every generation. Movie tickets are on sale now for just $5 each!

On Saturday, January 12, 2019, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will honor prolific choreographer and bold visionary Camille A. Brown (1997 YoungArts Winner in Dance & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), and singular interdisciplinary designers Simon and Nikolai Haas of The Haas Brothers, with the 2019 Arison Alumni Award and Arison Award, respectively.

Every once in a while, you discover a book so precious and breath-taking, it takes you completely by surprise. 2018's sucker punch for me was the recently released WILLA OF THE WOOD by Robert Beatty. I had never read Beatty's best-selling Serafina series. I bought the first two books digitally when they were on sale and then waited for the third book, thinking it would be the final book. (It's not). Now I own all three and am itching to dive in because I love WILLA so much. I wasn't expecting it, to be completely honest. I was expecting an interesting book that didn't fall far outside of the ordinary.  I didn't expect to fall into a book hangover upon finishing. I didn't expect to fall so head over heels deeply in love. I didn't anticipate the heavy emotions pouring through me as I came to the last page. I haven't loved a middle-grade novel this much since THE GIRL WHO DRANK THE MOON by Kelly Barnhill, which went on to win the prestigious Newbery Award. I'm really rooting for the Newbery committee to give WILLA an honor or the big win for this year's releases.

With today's society in constant need of visual stimulus, staging oratorio repertoire has become increasingly necessary. Gone are the days where a chorus can stand solemnly still in their tuxes and black dresses, holding their binders at hip height, while soloists sit downstage in bedazzled gowns and teased out hair. At least the days are gone when this would attract a young, fresh audience. To their credit, La Fura dels Baus seems to understand this and executed a visual feast of an evening--akin to a cracked out Ferngully--stumbling only when attempting to drive home the message of their concept. They had a lot to say--but I wasn't exactly sure what it was...
