The Ballad of a Music Duo and Fairies is a whimsical journey created by 9th grader Caroline Zyla, featured in the KidsWrite! Festival at Burning Coal Theatre. The story follows bandmates Cassie and Liam as they venture into the woods seeking inspiration for the Bayside Music Contest, only to discover a world filled with magic and wonder. Directed by Susan Gross, this play aims to captivate both young and mature audiences with its enchanting narrative. The festival will showcase a total of seven original one-act plays written by North Carolina students on May 23rd and 24th, 2025.
