However, their dazzling careers followed different trajectories before merging: MacMaster was a Cape Breton native who could step-dance before she could walk, and Leahy was the oldest brother of the acclaimed Leahy Family Musical Group. Now, sometimes along with stage appearances from five of their 7 gifted children, MacMaster and Leahy bring their fiddling synergy to devoted audiences stretching from Sydney, Nova Scotia to Sydney, Australia. They’ve collaborated with celebrated musicians ranging from YoYo Ma to Faith Hill, and are admired by talent that includes Shania Twain and the Chieftains. Fiddling, step-dancing and positively delighting audiences: MacMaster and Leahy are on a tour of spirited performances showcasing traditional folk and Celtic ceilidh classics, and original hits.
