Burning Coal Theatre Company presents KidsWrite! Festival 2025, celebrating one-act plays written by North Carolina students in grades 6-12. This year's festival features seven original plays, including Gumrunners by Riley Barricklow, Drew Bryan, Benjamin Chamblee, Thomas Dierks, Jack Mulley, and Grace Neuman, which follows a second grader's humorous rebellion against a school ban on gum. Directed by Susan Gross, the festival takes place on May 23 and 24 at the Burning Coal Theatre in Raleigh.
