Theatre Raleigh to Present SLEUTH, 8/5-16

By: Jul. 24, 2015

Theatre Raleigh presents Sleuth at Kennedy Theatre on August 5-16 (August 5 Preview Night, August 6 Opening Night). Sleuth has all the ingredients of a top-class thriller, a plot whose twists and turns are breathtakingly audacious and fiendishly cunning; with suspense and excitement galore.

Mercilessly satirizing the genre, while using its technical devices to the fullest, Sleuth is a dramatic study of sexual conflict and jealousy between an older and a younger man; as well as a subtle psychological portrait of an inadequate and sexually-obsessed middle-aged man.

"Round and round we go! What a theatrical delight to spend some time with an intricate and surprising murder mystery that changes direction with the 'drop of a quip'. And what a bigger thrill to return to Theatre Raleigh for a fifth adventure with such a literate script, talented cast, amazing designers, and dedicated crew. 'Let's put on the mask, Milo!'" said John McIlwee, Director.

The ultimate game of cat-and-mouse is played out in a cozy English country house owned by celebrated mystery writer, Andrew Wyke (Michael Brocki). Invited guest Milo Tindle (Jesse Gephart), a young rival who shares not only Wyke's love of the game but also his wife, has come to lay claim. Revenge is devised and murders plotted as the two plan the ultimate whodunnit.
