May N’Kame (played by Quigley Rovost-Landrum), is the mother of a dictator of an unnamed African nation who visits England to see Dr. Cora Gage (played by Erin McGarry) for help with her failing eyesight. Dr. Gage sees this as an opportunity to seek help in freeing her colleagues from this dictator. What she doesn’t know is that May has an ulterior motive for her visit. In heated debate over the morality of a life or death decision, the thorny topics of colonialism, torture and racism arise.
