The Bronte Sisters Will Live Again in BRONTE at the Hillsboro Library

Anne, Charlotte, and Emily Bronte were familiar with overcoming hurdles; the three Bronte sisters overcame isolation, sexism, and a family rocked by addiction to become three of the most important writers in all of Western literature. THE FLICK by Annie Baker Comes to Third Rail in January
by BWW News Desk - January 20, 2017
Set in a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, home to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state, The Flick follows the hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking stories of Sam, Avery and Rose, three mismatched employees. As they sweep up popcorn, bitch about their bosses, and critique the films that play at their ill-attended cineplex, the trio's own funny and fraught dramas play out in the empty aisles. But unlike the films that flicker from the projection booth, these dramas have real-world consequences.

In 1971, a man (who the FBI describe as 'nondescript') going by the name Dan Cooper hijacked a plane from Portland to Seattle, negotiated $200K and some parachutes in exchange for the passengers, and then jumped out of the plane as it headed back south. He was never found. He could still be alive. He could be your next door neighbor.

Milagro Announces New Original Work EL PAYASO
by BWW News Desk - January 12, 2017
Amidst chaos, confusion and war, an American engineer worked to bring electricity to rural villages in Nicaragua. El Payaso invites the audience to learn the story of an incredible man and the extraordinary people with whom he unexpectedly connected. Our tale is told through the eyes of Elias, a Latino college student, traveling to Nicaragua thirty years later, to encounter the people who are still carrying on the work of the late Ben Linder. An engineer and a clown for a cause, Linder participated in rallies and health campaigns that brought vaccines to children. His memory lives on in the work of Clowns without Borders and various environmental groups that are collaborating to bring this story to life. With red noses and humor, the performers will share the value of "thinking globally, while acting locally.'

A full 11 days of brand new works by artists both veteran and new on the scene.
