A CHRISTMAS MEMORY & WINTER SONG at The Armory this Holiday Season

This winter, a delightful offering of holiday story and song will run in The Armory's Ellyn Bye Studio. Truman Capote's tender holiday tale, A Christmas Memory, will be paired with Winter Song, an original presentation of music and storytelling created by the brilliant singer Merideth Kaye Clark and The Armory's own Brandon Woolley. Preview performances will begin November 18, opening night is November 24, and performances will run through December 31.

Writer, teacher, therapist, lobbyist and actor Danna Schaeffer will present her one-woman show, You in Midair, from October 5 through 15, at New Expressive Works. You in Midair is directed by Julie Akers. Previously titled My Little Jezebel, this full production follows a January 2017 staged reading with PDX Playwrights in the Fertile Ground Festival New Works.

Artists Repertory Theatre presents Caught, a show centered around Chinese dissident artist Lin Bo that combines visual art and live theatre installations. Caught is presented in partnership with The Ch j Gallery/SF and The Geezer Gallery, and features dozens of collaborators including playwright Christopher Chen. The production runs October 1 through October 29, 2017 on Artists Rep's newly configured Morrison Stage.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Luis Alfaro's Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles comes to The Armory after a triumphant six-month run in Ashland. Directed by Juliette Carrillo, this powerful adaptation of Euripides' Medea set in modern-day Los Angeles features the same cast as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival run: Sabina Zuniga Varela as Medea, Lakin Valdez as Jason , VIVIS as Tita, Nancy Rodriguez as Josefina, Vilma Silva as Armida, and Jahnangel Jimenez as Acan. New to the company is Ken Yoshikawa as Soldier.
Oregon Shakespeare Festival Offering $10 Rush Tickets to Benefit Food Drive

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is offering discounted $10 rush tickets for 18 performances to benefit ACCESS and the Ashland Emergency Food Bank. Those wishing to participate are asked to bring at least one non-perishable food item for each $10 ticket purchased. Patrons may also make a cash donation to receive this special rush price.

Ms. Gallagher will read from her poetry after which Imago will present HUMAN NOISE, three short stories and one poem staged by Imago's Jerry Mouawad. After the production Ms Gallagher will chat in an informal talk-back with the audience.

They are interrupted by two Joes: The Senator and The Ballplayer (looking an awful lot like McCarthy and DiMaggio), who bring with them the menace and mayhem of the outside world.
