After over 30 years of exploring mask theater Imago creators Carol Triffle and Jerry Mouawad are closing their world acclaimed production "ZooZoo" in order to focus on a new company they intend to launch next season that will incorporate dance, movement, and comedy. The new company will reveal something their international audiences have not seen much of at Imago – the performer's face.

Imago will present the final performances of "ZooZoo" for Portland audiences from tonight, Dec 7 to Jan 1. ZooZoo's cats, penguins, anteaters, polar bears, fireflies, giant windbags, acrobatic worms and animated objects will go out on a bang after an international tour in 2013 that will jaunt the company to about 25 cities throughout North America.

"Over so many years, we have created numerous creatures and inanimate objects and have been very fortunate to build Imago on this work. It has enabled us to establish a Portland facility for the arts, train hundreds of artists and share our work with hundreds of thousands on several continents" says Carol Triffle, Artistic Co-director, " with dance, clown theater and more tricks up our sleeves the new company should surprise."

"We've had a wonderful run with the exploration and delight we have discovered with our mask forms. But we're very excited about the possibilities of our new directions. Since we will be laying down the mask and unveiling the performer there will be a side to Imago that is yet to be discovered." says Jerry Mouawad, Artistic Co-director.

"ZooZoo" includes the best of "FROGZ" and "Biglittlethings" Triffle and Mouawad began developing the pieces for these works in the late 70's. By the mid 80's the company was touring internationally. By 2000 the company opened FROGZ on Broadway at the acclaimed New Victory Theater. Imago returned to the New Victory in 2002 (FROGZ) and in 2010 (ZooZoo.)
