Portland State to Stage THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, 2/26-3/7
Portland State University College of the Arts and School of Theater + Film present Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, directed by Karin Magaldi.
Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest has it all: mistaken identity, the earnestness of young love, the imperious obstacles imposed by guardians, and the delicious mystery of a misplaced handbag in a Victoria Station cloakroom. The Importance of Being Earnest is the most produced of Wilde's plays and in it he is the master of the bon mot and wicked epigram. Wilde wields his sparkling wit to simultaneously revel in and skewer Victorian society. Are we any different? Join us for the fun as this beloved play comes to life with help from costume designer, Alison Heryer, and set and lighting designer, Daniel Meeker.
Performances will run at Lincoln Performance Hall, 1620 SW Park Ave Portland, OR 97201. Performances Schedule: Low Cost Preview - Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.; Evening Performances - Feb. 27-28, and March 4-7 at 7:30 PM; Matinee - Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 PM.
