By: Kelsey Denette
The world premiere of One Night with Janis Joplin, now playing at Portland Center Stage, has been extended for one week, now playing through July 3.
"If you never got the chance to see Joplin live or on film, this feels as close as you're going to get."
--The Oregonian"The spirit of Janis shines in One Night with Janis Joplin. The band. Wow, the band. All local Portland musicians. All fine musicians. Go listen to them. Worth the ticket. One Night with Janis Joplin succeeds because it remains true to the spirit of the music, and by remaining true to the spirit of the music remains true to the spirit of Janis."

The audience, too!"This one blew the roof off the Armory. We had thought theater at PCS couldn't get any better. We were wrong!"
"One Night with Janis Joplin - WHAT A TREAT! I didn't know what to expect but what I got was One Night with Janis Joplin, a lot of chair boogie, and a big smile!"
"My husband saw Janis perform at the Mississippi River Music Festival on the SIU Edwardsville campus back in 1968 or 69--she was a force of nature the likes of which he'd never seen before. We saw the show last night and I have to agree with him- Piece of My Heart blew us away! Great show!"
"Was an amazing Janis Joplin show last night. I think your actress nailed it!!!"
"Great production! Really enjoyed the show last night!"
