Lakewood Theatre Company will offer a workshop with one of Oregon's most successful writers for stage and film, Monte Merrick. The workshops will be held Sunday, May 20th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Fee for the 3 hour workshop is $50. Learn from one of Oregon's most successful writers, Monte Merrick. Mr. Merrick's major motion pictures include Memphis Belle, 8 Seconds, and Mr. Baseball. He is the recipient of both the prestigious Shubert Fellowship and Charles MacArthur Playwriting Award for his plays which have been produced Off-Broadway and in regional theatres.

Mr. Merrick will discuss a range of topics from writing a script to getting it produced (process, management, distribution). This class will appeal to all interested in the craft of writing whether you are a seasoned writer, just starting to write, or curious about the process. There will be class participation, and participants are encouraged to bring their own work which may be read and discussed, time permitting.

The maximum number of participants is 12. Limited space available for non-participants to observe the class but pre-registration is required.
