Previews: REMEMBER THIS: THE LESSON OF JAN KARSKI at Teatr Muzyczny Poznan

The outstanding American actor David Strathairn plays the great Polish humanist.

A monodrama about Jan Karski, a courier, enthusiastically described by reviewers
of the Polish Underground State, will be shown in Poznań on February 4.

Art invites the viewer to explore their own soul. Are we doing enough to help others? Or maybe we are heartless or we pay too much attention to what divides us? - this is an excerpt from the Washington Post review after the premiere of the play depicting the fate of an emissary of the Polish Underground State.

The role of Karski is played by David Strathairn, nominated for an Oscar for the film "Good Night and Good Luck", (also known from the films "Lincoln" or "Nomadland"). The role of the actor in the performance was assessed by critics as outstanding.

The monodrama poses questions about the human condition, about our attitude towards manifestations of evil, injustice and harm. It mobilizes people to take responsibility and engage in social issues, and its message is very topical in the context of the war in Ukraine.
The legacy of Jan Karski obliges us not to look away when the weaker is harmed. He puts the good and interest of another person above his own, replaces egoism with empathy, and fear with courage.

The show's co-author and director is Derek Goldman, an award-winning theater director and playwright. Together with co-writer Clark Young, they created a monodrama at Georgetown University's Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics, with the support of the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and the Jan Karski Educational Foundation.

The performance has already been warmly applauded in London, Bilbao, Washington, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, and thanks to the efforts of the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and the Jan Karski Educational Foundation, it will also be shown in Poland. It will be available on February 4 at 7 p.m. 19:00 in Aula Artis Poznań (Collegium da Vinci, ul. Kutrzeby 10).

Review: DAISY at Jerzy Szaniawski Dramatyczny Theater In Walbrzych Photo
What did our critic think of DAISY at Jerzy Szaniawski Dramatyczny Theater In Walbrzych? There are musicals that arise with glee and joy and others that do not. There are musicals that make you think and others that you will quickly forget. Daisy the Musical is not easy. It's sad but beautiful. It shows the life of one of the most incredible women that used to live in our region. Daisy, Princess of Pless had an overwhelming life definitely worth showing off.

What did our critic think of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at Teatr Muzyczny Poznan? Some goods cannot be damaged (or you think so), and one of them is this musical classic. Not only is the Poznan show undamaged, but it is also pure, elegant, magical, and beautiful in the most moving way.

Review: RABBLE at Teatr Wspolczesny WroclawReview: RABBLE at Teatr Wspolczesny Wroclaw

What did our critic think of RABBLE at Teatr Wspolczesny Wroclaw? This show is unlike any other. Interactive, audience-friendly yet intimate in a very comfortable way. The play is based on Kacper Poblocki's book and gives an interesting perspective on Polish history. This is the part we forget, ignore, or intentionally hide. We come from the countryside, from the oppressed plebs who lived hand to mouth, day by day for someone else.

Review: SOMETHING ROTTEN at Teatr Muzyczny W GdyniReview: SOMETHING ROTTEN at Teatr Muzyczny W Gdyni
February 13, 2023

What did our critic think of SOMETHING ROTTEN at Teatr Muzyczny W Gdyni? The show is great on every level, with a huge stage, many actors, impressive shorthand, and music that fills every corner of the great hall. The action is fast, it feels like everything is moving all the time. The stage is giant but well organized and every inch is used to the fullest. It's a piece made for a musical scene and shows.
