Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie, known for his signature Purdie Shuffle and contributions to thousands of American classics from Steely Dan to Aretha Franklin to James Brown, will perform some of his hit songs with a band assembled by veteran Pittsburgh-based bassist Dwayne Dolphin, a member of Fred Wesley and James Brown's band The New JB's. Purdie will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival. The performance is part of the 16th Annual Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival.
