off the WALL productions closes their 2017-18 season with the regional premiere of Byhalia, Mississippi. Previously staged by Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Evan Linder's funny and moving salute to both down-home decency and a troubled couple living in a see-through shack is a bittersweet story about love, class, race, family, and forgiveness.
Resonance Works Ends Season With Pittsburgh Premiere Of Dvorak's RUSALKA

RESONANCE WORKS closes its fifth season with a fully staged production of Dvoak's opera Rusalka on Friday, May 11, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, May 13, at 3 p.m. Performances will be held at the Charity Randall Theatre in Oakland, continuing an exciting partnership with the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Theatre Arts. Presented with generous support from the Heinz Endowments, Rusalka will be performed with the Resonance Chamber Orchestra and sung in the original Czech with projected English supertitles. Resonance Works Founder and Artistic Director Maria Sensi Sellner conducts.

To complete his illustrious career leading Pittsburgh Public Theater, Ted Pappas has chosen William Shakespeare's Hamlet as the final play he will direct as the company's Producing Artistic Director. His cast of 21 actors will be led by Indiana, PA native Matthew Amendt. Milo de Venus is a world premiere play by Brian Pope, featuring local actors Joanna Getting, Hazel Leroy, Jalina McClarin, Max Reusing, and Mike Zolovich, and directed by Shannon Knapp. It is the inaugural production of a new theatrical collective Non-State Actors. In the play, a young artist (McClarin) spends money she doesn't have to pay for an art class from a famous local visual artist (Getting) only to find out that the man (Reusing) she has been messaging on Tinder is the class's model.
