Prime Stage Theatre will bring the world premiere of The Devil's Arithmetic to the stage. Based on the novel by Jane Yolen and adapted for the stage by Barry Kornhauser, it is commissioned by Prime Stage Theatre.

Directed by Lisa Ann Goldsmith, the play follows Hannah, a modern day teenager, as she is mysteriously transported back to the Holocaust. Original Klezmer music composed by Tom Roberts and Angela Baughman engages the audience as they become caught up in Hannah's journey through a world of deceit, survival, friendship, and family.

The show opens tonight, May 10, with an after-show reception, and runs through May 18 at The Hazlett Theater located at 6 Allegheny Square East. A special Mother's Day event with the author will follow the performance on May 11. Jane Yolen will present "Remember, O, Remember: How I wrote The Devil's Arithmetic" and do a book signing.

The production and Ms. Yolen's presentation is presented through support by The Jewish Federation, Giant Eagle Foundation, Children's Theater Foundation of America, Pa Humanities Council, Classrooms without Borders, and the Holocaust Center of Greater Pittsburgh.

Tickets are available for both the show and Ms. Yolen's presentation at www.primestage.com.
