Ballet Arizona’s annual An Evening at Desert Botanical Garden production returns May 16 through June 3 with an all-new world premiere by Artistic Director, Ib Andersen. ‘The Rite of Spring’ will create a whole new look to the orchestral work, initially composed by Stravinsky in 1911 and 1912. Andersen has modernized the composition with transformational choreography that captures the energetic and emotional feel of the music through ballet. Surrounded by the matchless Desert Botanical Garden landscape with the setting sun as a backdrop, join the Valley’s only professional ballet company for a world premiere performance that promises to capture the beauty and complexity of dance in an artistic performance that is uniquely Arizonan.
