TCA Theatre Performs SOME VELVET MORNING by Neil LaBute
Tempe Center for the Arts sponsored by Northern Trust is proud to announce its first self-produced play, Some Velvet Morning, written by Neil LaBute. The play, directed by Ralph Remington, Artistic Director, TCA, previews on March 9 and opens March 10, 2017 with performances each weekend through March 19, 2017. Detailed performance schedule listed below. There will be a post-show talk back on select performances.
Some Velvet Morning is a provocative play that grapples with issues of misogyny and sexism with an electrifying story of obsession, desire and the roles we play. Some Velvet Morning features actors Brian Runback as "Fred," Christina Denkinger as "Velvet" and guest artists Tandem Duo, an innovative duo of violin and marimba who perform an original score for the performances. Please note: Some Velvet Morning contains adult themes and language and is recommended for ages 18+.
"Live performance hits human beings in such a visceral, emotional way, sometimes disrupting our comfort zone, often starting dialogue, always leaving an impression. Neil's play grapples with the disturbing normalization of sexism in our everyday lives, so it's a thrill for us to be the first in the Southwest to produce this fascinating work."- Ralph Remington, TCA Artistic Director and Director for Some Velvet Morning.
Tickets for Some Velvet Morning are $25 adults / $15 students and are available at the Box Office, tca.ticketforce.com or by calling (480) 350-2TCA (2822).
