Theater Works at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts invites you to laugh-out-loud with it's Youth Works production of Avenue Q School Edition opening tonight, February 8, 2013 and playing through February 24, 2013.

Avenue Q School Edition is a side-splitting funny musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Avenue Q School Edition is based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, creators of the comical Broadway musical Avenue Q that won the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.

"These hilarious playwrights have adjusted their award winning show to a PG-13 rating, so it could be performed by our high school students," says Chris Hamby, Theater Works Director of Youth and Puppetry. "The modifications preserve the dramatic intention and integrity of the production, while providing edits that make the theme and message more appropriate for a wider audience."

Theater Works will present Avenue Q School Edition, directed by Chris Hamby with musical direction by Ken Goodenberger and featuring book by Jeff Whitty, orginal music by Robert Lopez and lyrics by Jeff Marx, February 8 - 24, 2013.

Box Office: Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 8355 West Peoria Avenue, Peoria, Arizona. Call (623) 815-7930 or visit www.theaterworks.org.
