VIDEO: The Cast of THE BAND'S VISIT Preview 'Welcome to Nowhere'

Manila, Philippines - Winner of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, The Band's Visit makes its international premiere in the capital of the Philippines on 13 March 2020. Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group's Bobby Garcia helms the production, which the Chicago Tribune describes as "remarkable and boundlessly compassionate and humanistic piece of theater."

The Band's Visit runs from 13 to 29 March 2020 at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City.

On this page, check out the rehearsal video of Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Rody Vera, Bibo Reyes, Reb Atadero, and the cast performing an excerpt of "Welcome to Nowhere."

"The Band's Visit tells a delightfully offbeat story, set in a town that's way off the beaten path, where a band of musicians arrives lost, out of the blue. Under the spell of the desert sky, and with beautiful music perfuming the air, the band brings the town to life in unexpected and tantalizing ways. Even the briefest visit can stay with you forever," its synopsis says.

The musical features the music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses. For its international premiere, Faust Peneyra is the set designer; Adam Honore, lighting designer; Farley Asuncion, musical director; Cecile Martinez, musical staging director; Odelon Simpao, costume designer; ManMan Angsico, vocals director; GA Fallarme, projection designer; Jaydee Jasa, makeup designer, and Justin Stasiw, sound designer.

The complete cast features Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo (Dina), Rody Vera (Tewfiq), Mark Bautista (Haled), Nino Alejandro (Avrum), Bibo Reyes (Itzik), Reb Atadero (Papi), Jill Pena (Iris), Maronne Cruz (Julia), Jep Go (The Telephone Guy), Floyd Tena (Sammy), Dean Rosen (Zelger), Steven Conde (Simon), Rhenwyn Galbalonzo (Camal), and Leanne Mamonong.

The Band's Visit launches Atlantis Twenty Twenty, a season of three musicals that will also feature an all-new revival of the award-winning family musical Oliver!, presented through a special licensing arrangement with Cameron Mackintosh Ltd. and Music Theatre International, and the hit Broadway musical On Your Feet!, presented through a special licensing agreement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide and Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
