Wawa Welcome America's Pops on Independence features the Philly Pops orchestra led by Music Director Chris Dragon alongside headliner Idina Menzel. The program includes selections from Broadway and film, featuring songs from Wicked and Let It Go from Frozen, plus a medley of patriotic music. Idina Menzel is a Tony Award-winning performer known for her roles as Elphaba in Wicked and as the voice of Elsa in Disney's Frozen. Christopher Dragon, a 35-year-old Australian conductor, serves as Music Director of the Philly Pops and Resident Conductor of the Colorado Symphony.

POPS ON INDEPENDENCE Concert with Idina Menzel Start Time Pushed Due to Extreme Heat
July 01, 2026 Wawa Welcome America has announced a delayed start time for this year's Pops on Independence concert due to expected extreme heat. The free July 3 performance starring Tony Award winner Idina Menzel and the Philly Pops will now begin at 8 p.m.
